BBDBA 15-19k AWI American vs British Part3

BOOM! The American Guns are bang on again...

Lafayette urges his men across the river to attack 'Hessian Hill'.

The British line in the centre is looking thin.

___________________________________
The French view of the Redcoats.

___________________________________
French Infantry attack the cornfield held by the British Lights.

___________________________________
The French attack would result in the British Lights fleeing.
However the French Indians fall to the Rangers firepower.

___________________________________
"Come on Chaps!" Tarleton leads a force to attack the French flank.

___________________________________
A view from 'Hessian Hill', again poor PiPs let down Jack & Amy.

Muskets & Artillery erupt along the line.....

___________________________________
Again the Americans & French come off best!

___________________________________
This would be a ding dong clash all day long...

The American Militia let rip...

Jack attacks the British Grenadiers, if he could break these two units,
then the British centre would collapse.

Lafayette's troops are nearly there...

The British Grenadiers Recoil but are not destroyed!

BOOM! At last the British Artillery finds its range.

Hessian Jagers vs American Jagers - scratch one German mercenary.

Overview of the Battle, the French are on the verge of collapse, but so is the British centre.

The Hessian's manage to reinforce the British line, but the hill is going to be left lightly defended.

___________________________________
The other Hessian force rushes to plug the other hole.

___________________________________
RaHoo! British firepower knocks back the Americans...

___________________________________
Lafayette finally attacks 'Hessian hill'

___________________________________
The poor French are taking a beating, Arnold sends forward the Brits to finish them off.

___________________________________
Now it's the British line that's looking good.

___________________________________
Slowly the Americans are winning on 'Hessian Hill', but would it be too late?

___________________________________
Washington can only look on as some more infantry are destroyed.

___________________________________
Hessian firepower begins to bite.

___________________________________
Whoops a daisy! Back down the hill they go...

___________________________________
A brief ray of hope for the French.... Back go the British Grenadiers.

___________________________________
But NO! Another French casualty & it's not looking good for Jack & Amy.

___________________________________
With that the, French force is DEMORALIZED (we placed yellow markers to represent this).

___________________________________
PiPs are needed to HOLD troops in place...
The rest are sent legging it to the rear!

'Allez, Allez, next stop ze ships & then onto Paris"!

___________________________________

  3. Looks like I'm following you all the way Mr. F. Though I'm more of a mid-18th C. enthusiast myself. I love your AWI battle reports, and especially the terrain.
    And, like yourself, I'm just starting to collect figures (15mm scale) for a NW Frontier game (probably set around 1880-1900).
    So I'll be coming back to read on a regular basis.
